Organic Regulation Hits Canada on June 30th, 2009

The CFIA has announced that the Organic Products Regulations will come into force June 30, 2009, not December 14, 2008 as previously stated. The published amendment can be found at http://canadagazette.gc.ca/partII/2008/20080917/html/sor279-e.html

L'ACIA a annoncé que le Règlement sur les produits biologiques sera en vigueur le 30 juin 2009, et non plus le 14 décembre 2008. L'amendement est publié à l'adresse suivante:

This will ensure that every product entering Canada meets our organic standard and there's a system in place to enforce products that bear the words "organic". There is now a 60-day comment period on the regulation, so make sure to have your say!
