Sample Budgets

Examining the sample cost of production budgets for conventional and organic production can be another useful tool to assess an opportunity and benchmark your operation. It should be noted that these budgets should only be used as part of your analysis. Each farm is different and yours is no exception. It is critical to understand your own local costs (such as labour) and market dynamics.

The following websites can provide a number of examples of sample budgets. Information from Canadian sources is provided here. Additional relevant budget information can also be linked from the different Transition spreadsheets. [INCLUDE LINK to section]
