“It’s all I ever wanted to do,” claims Terrance Boyle, when asked how he chose his career in agriculture. Terrance is the owner and operator of Forever Green Organic Farm, which specializes in organic beef. Terrance is a seventh generation farmer and his family has expanded the farm tremendously in the twenty years that they have been working with the land.
Terrance Boyle was long considered a radical when he decided to transition the farm from conventional to organic. This was at the point in the mid-nineties when most people were either getting out of farming altogether or planting commodity crops. Despite the heavy dissuasion, they have been certified organic since the late 1990’s and have been quite successful at becoming a smaller scale, mixed and mostly self-sufficient, biodynamic farm. With a goal of being “completely self-sufficient from birth to waste products,” Forever Green Farm is well on its way from growing organic grain for animal feed to a commercial scale production of organic compost almost everything is produced and used on site.
Forever Green Organic Farm also boasts a provincially inspected meat plant.
Forever Green Organic Farm's "gardens" are twelve acres of organic vegetables tended mostly by the family from nieces to nephews to their own three children, who are “active in all aspects of food production,” says Terrance.
In addition to being a dedicated, hard worker, Terrance Boyle is a continually innovative farmer, always looking for the best way to accomplish a task on his farm. He is proud of the fact that he and his family still try to “learn something new every day.”
