On farm plant breeding is advancing the development of brand new, grown-in-Canada varieties that are well suited for organic production and adapted to our local climate.
Please join us to hear about this work on PEI! We'll hear from PEI farmer Matt Ramsay - working with popoulations of wheat and oat - and Anne Kirk - head of the national plant breeding program at University of Manitoba. They'll speak to the research design & methods, varieties, selection process, and how this work is contributing to research by dozens of farmer researchers across Canada.
The field visit will take place in Kensington, PE, on August 24th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 or $10 for ACORN members.
