Description: Established in 1960, Boates Farm is a two generation family business, specializing in certified organic apples, pears, sweet apple cider and vinegars. This tour will be facilitated by Brian Boates, owner and operator of Boates Farm and also President of ACORN's Board of Directors. Through the integration of beneficial insects and an ecologically friendly management system, Brian has transitioned and sells a variety of products at the Historic Market in Halifax, NS, as well as through a number of retail outlets in Nova Scotia. This event is catered to those interested in pursuing organic orchard management and/or those who are interested in learning more about the process and the story of Boates Farm!
