About Certification

Going Organic?

ACORN has many resources to make the journey into organic agriculture as straight forward as possible.

Looking for an apprenticeship with an experienced grower? ACORN works with SOIL Apprenticeships and has lots of great farms involved all over Atlantic Canada.

Want to talk to someone directly about certification or a production issue? Thanks to funding support and advisory services from NRC-IRAP, ACORN has hired a Transition Specialist to help anyone who is thinking about going organic, or already in transition.

This is a free service in Atlantic Canada and we'd love you to use it. If you've got a question, contact our knowledgeable resource person, Rupert Jannasch at 902-633-2358 or E-mail: rjannasch [insert @] ns.sympatico.ca. You can also try our Frequently Asked Questions section.

Are you ready to certify?
Farms need to be inspected one year in advance of when they will be fully certified organic. To do so, you must contact a certification body and get the ball rolling!
