Employer: Angus East Organics; Dr. Dianne Stackhouse & Mr. Gerard Caissie, Cambridge-Narrows NB
Positions available: Organic Bovine husbandman/woman.
Equine husbandman/woman
Duties: Operating heavy equipment. Calving/foaling, bedding and feeding. Training/handling horses. Tilling, planting, and harvesting field crops. Mixing spraying/spreading soil and compost amendments. Basic maintenance of farm equipment and farm infrastructure including mechanical, metal welding/fabrication, carpentry and fence maintenance tasks.
Qualifications: Interest in Organic management and respect for Organic principles. High school graduate. Post secondary education an asset. Experience operating heavy equipment. Experience with animals (Bovine or Equine). Exemplary drivers record with Class 5 drivers license and air breaks an asset. Class 3A or 1A license an asset. Mechanical, welding and fence maintenance experience an asset. Safety training an asset.
Term: Full Time
Hours: 40-50 Hours/Week
To Start: As soon as possible.
Wage: Based on education and experience.
Deadline: Until filled.
Other Information: This operation has 300 head of black/red Angus and large acreage all under organic management. The ranch has 60 purebred Arabian horses. The farm is fairly automated with a full line of equipment for all farm tasks. Accommodations can be arranged. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are prohibited on farm premises.
