Farm Description: Angelhoeve Farm is a family run certified organic farm operating since 2001. We specialize in heritage pigs and are the caretakers of an ever growing flock of sheep, a few goats and a small flock of various birds for eggs and meat. This season we are planning to expand our berry, vegetable and herb production. The farm is 164 acres of which 100 acres is an FSC Certified woodlot. The remaining acreage is used in rotation for berries, vegetables, hay and pasture. We are building a greenhouse/high tunnel this season as well as working to put a neglected field back into hay production. We direct market at the Wolfville Farmers Market and the Halifax Farmers Market as well as sell from the farm gate.
General Duties and Learning Opportunities: All aspects of growing organically: from seed to harvest to market; compost making; soil and bed preparation including rock picking, cover cropping, greenhouse building and production, season extension, tractor work, irrigation maintenance, harvesting as well as attending the farmers market. The focus will be on the horticultural side of the farm but some animal care will be required.
Remuneration: According to skills and experience and if accommodation is required.
