    The Pest Management Regulatory Agency

All products designed to manage, destroy, attract or repel pests that are used, sold or imported into Canada are regulated by Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency. These products include chemicals, devices, and even organisms, and are referred to collectively as pest control products, or simply "pesticides." The federal legislative authority for the regulation of pesticides in Canada is the Pest Control Products Act. The use of pesticides is also subject to regulation under provincial/territorial legislation.

Regardless of a pesticide's permissibility under the Canadian General Standards, it must be registered by the PMRA and issued a Pest Control Product number (PCP#) and it must be permitted under provincial legislation. It is the responsibility of producers and processors to know the laws governing the use of the pesticide they intend to use.

Before using any product, read and follow all instructions and safety precautions on labels. The product label is a legal document. It is against the law to use the product in any other way. The user of this information assumes all risks for personal injury or property damage.
