How to use this database
Information in this database is divided into three main sections (Crop, Livestock and Processing). Each section is further divided into categories of inputs (e.g., pest controls). Underneath each category is a list of inputs.
Inputs can be retrieved from the database in a number of ways. There is a search engine that allows key words or exact terms to be used. A list of inputs containing those words or terms will be displayed. Users can also view a table of contents from which all of the sections, categories and inputs can be viewed. If users want, they can view single inputs, categories of inputs, or entire sections.
When an input is selected and displayed, there is often a table listing products and their suppliers underneath it. When a supplier is selected, a pop up window will display the available contact information in the database. In many cases, these suppliers are linked to their websites.
If a product is registered as a pesticide, it will have a Pest Control Product Number (PCP#). All PCP numbers are linked to pdf files that can be viewed to obtain for application rates, active ingredients, and manufacture recommendations.
